about me

Internationally published photographer in Northern VA specializing in newborn, children + family, and breastfeeding photography, serving the entire Washington DC metro area.

This is me: Blaire Elizabeth. I’m a mom, wife, friend, and photographer in Northern VA.

I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. Second Ave is the street where my grandfather lived. He was a photographer and had a dark-room in his basement which is where I first remember falling in love with all things photography. That is where the name Second Ave Photography comes from.

As a professional photographer, I reinvest into my business and education so that you will always get my very best. I accept only a limited number of bookings each month so you will have my full attention. Working with young children has always been one of my favorite things in life and I enjoy every moment. I think they can tell, too.

My promise to you is simple: No forced smiles, no gritted teeth, and a unique gallery you will love looking back on.

When not behind the lens, I enjoy spending time with a cup of coffee. I’m kidding! Sort of. I also have a husband and two beautiful daughters who are a lot of fun, and we share our home with two rescue dogs and a rescue cat (and a very spoiled bearded dragon.) We also foster kittens for our local Humane Society. I can often be found out for a run with my dog – the one that runs, not that one that sleeps on my couch. I settled into Northern Virginia in 2006. Giving back to the community through my photography and supporting other small businesses are what complete me as a #momboss. I enjoy baking from scratch and singing loudly in the car. I’m a certified scuba diver and total beach bum. I love color and all things glitter and confetti.

Second Ave Photography became an LLC in August 2014. Becoming a small business owner has been one of my lifelong dreams. My work has been published internationally and has been featured in a documentary. I donate professional work to Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, Preemie Prints, and the March of Dimes.
