For this month’s local outings challenge, we took to Washington DC. Dulles Moms offered me an opportunity to check out CROCS, we jumped at the chance knowing how much our littlest loves animals. Her one critique? That she was unable to hold a baby crocodile, lol. We don’t take advantage of everything Washington DC has to offer, but we are so lucky to have a National Geographic Museum just blocks from the White House. The museum features interactive and photographic exhibits from National Geographic photographers and scientists.
The exhibit was great for the kids, with hands-on interactive experiences ranging from listening to all of the different crocodile calls to bite force simulators to tanks with live crocodiles.
We were also delightfully surprised at the photo exhibit they had, featuring work by Joel Sartore. My kids immersed themselves in the displays and enjoyed learning about all of the beautiful animals.
