project 52 of 2013 | animals

Not to rag on Apple, but our hard drive crashed last week and needed to be replaced. This is the second time in four years. I’m pretty sure that’s not normal. As great as their customer service is, “sometimes it just happens” is really not an acceptable answer when we’re talking a $200+ repair on a $3000+ computer every two years. But I digress.

My apologies for posting this a couple of days late. Last week’s theme was animals. I took this to imply I could share more than one picture 🙂 I’d like to introduce you to the three animals in my life:

adopt, animal rescue, Blog, blog walk, blog hop, cat, pet photographer, pet photography, photo challenge, photoblog, Photographer, Photography, project 52,
Snoopy is a 100-pound, 7 1/2 year old sable-colored German Shepherd. He was our second foster for the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue. He came to us very sick and in need of urgent medical attention; after he was nursed back to health, we just couldn’t bear to let him go, so he’s been with us since January 2009. Interesting fact: Snoopy is afraid of hard-surfaced floors.

Finnian is a 65-pound, 6 year old German Shepherd/Pug hybrid (yes, you read that right.) We got him as a tiny puppy. His owners were pug breeders who also had a male GSD they showed (and thus, could not be neutered.) They were not surprised when the pug got pregnant, but they were a bit bewildered by the 8 puppies she gave birth to. Interesting fact: Finn sleeps in our daughter’s room every night.

Molly is a very hefty, 5 1/2 year old solid white cat we adopted from Lost Dog and Cat Rescue. We went to PetSmart one summer night to buy puppy food for Finn and she was sitting in the back corner of a cage…we left with her that night. She rarely meows and has never scratched or hissed at anyone or anything. Interesting fact: Molly thinks she owns us.

You’re probably here from Michele’s blog. Now hop over to Nancy’s blog and see her “animals” image 🙂
