Most schools offer Fall portraits. But have you wondered why schools should offer Spring portraits? Here is my take as your Northern Virginia school photographer.
As a mom, Fall is a super busy time for my family. After a summer off it can be tough getting back into the swing of sports, a new school schedule, new routines at home. Picture day can often be felt as one more thing to do in a time of so much to do. But I’m not here to suggest you shouldn’t offer Fall picture days, because certainly there are many parents who enjoy having the photos in time for holiday gifts or simply to celebrate the start of a new chapter.
Spring photos are a great idea to offer in addition to Fall photos. By the time Spring rolls around, kids have had a chance to settle in to their routines. They are more comfortable, having spent months making friends and getting to know their teachers. I always get more confident reactions from kids in the Spring than in the Fall.

Spring is simply a beautiful time for photos outside and this makes a lovely complement to the studio portraits you may have had taken in the Fall.
