I was put in touch with this family after they contacted Preemie Prints and asked for someone to photograph Baby J in the NICU at Fairfax; unfortunately, we couldn’t line up our timing, but I was so happy to offer them a NICU Graduate session. Baby J was born 3 months premature in May, and spent all 3 months in the NICU – he is 7 months old (4 months adjusted) now and developing appropriately but undersized at 13 pounds. I’m not surprised he’s doing so well – this little guy is surrounded by strength and unending love and support from his mama and grandma.
The session itself was out of the box for me; mom envisioned sort of a studio set-up with posed portraits in her formal living room, which I generally don’t do, but under this circumstance (and given that he had a cold and it was raining) we decided to go for it. It would be really hard for him not to look absolutely adorable anyway.
