Who doesn’t love a good before and after? Today I’m sharing a few recent favorites. As a Washington DC Photographer I edit each image by hand to make sure the final images you see presented in your gallery have attention to details like bringing out a beautiful or dramatic sky, true-to-life vibrant colors and rich black and white conversions, and removing distractions wherever possible.
If you’re wondering how I edit. I bring all of my images into Lightroom to start. I work hard to capture images in-camera that are close to how I envision the final image. For the most part, Lightroom is all I need to adjust things like the crop of an image and white balance. I have Photoshop which I’ll use for more intensive changes like head swaps, opening eyes, things like that.
Some shots are a quicker edit, like most of the families below, and others take more time, like removing swimmers from pictures of my girls on the beach. I use my unique black and white conversion to add visual interest and depth, limit distractions, and/or to draw your focus to an emotion.
If you’re looking for a Washington DC photographer, I would love to be considered! I specialize in newborns and childhood + family sessions. Please shoot me an email so we can connect!
