If you’ve been reading my blog for even a short time, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro. I use it for everything – I loved how it performed on my Rebel, and now that I’m on a full frame camera, I love it even more. It’s so versatile and captures a ton of detail!
Naturally, this week’s “closeup/macro” challenge sent my heart all aflutter. I decided to save some of the images I took at the National Zoo in Washington, DC when we went on Sunday (Mother’s Day) for today’s post. Yes, I brought the lens specifically for the invertebrates house – and yes, I apologize that some of these images might make you squirm if you don’t care for invertebrates.
Side note: I still hate spiders. I just can’t help myself when they’re behind glass; they just sit still and it’s like they’re posing for me. I think we’re developing a fatal attraction kind of relationship. And as far as macro goes, I love that you can see the individual hairs on his body. Additional side note: there are orb weavers that are not behind glass at the end of the invertebrates exhibit, and I literally run past them when it’s time to leave.
