project 52 of 2013 | spooky

Halloween is Thursday and there are so many great opportunities for our “spooky” challenge this week. I’m sorry this post is late – but since we were planning to be on Long Island over the weekend I decided to wait and photograph the spookiest thing I can think of. And I didn’t even need it to be Halloween.

My parents live in a 200+ year old home filled with antiques. Among them are these harlequin statues. I’m not normally afraid of clowns but these things give me the creeps. It doesn’t help that my parents have them somewhat hidden in a corner in the living room. I enlisted my husband to move them outside under the light one evening for this one shot…then promptly moved them back inside!
