This week’s challenge was “togetherness.” As the very pregnant mom of a toddler, it may not surprise you to hear that one of my favorite times of the day is bed time…but probably not for the reason you’re thinking (ha!)

My daughter loves to read books. At night, she gets to pick two to read before bed time – one can be a picture book that we made her, featuring all of her family and friends from special events, and the other can to be a story book. Then we snuggle up together on her bed and she picks which Daddy reads to her and which Mommy reads to her.

Just as an aside, for anyone raising kids away from their extended families, the picture books are an excellent way to make sure your child continues to feel close to everyone important in her life.

Anyway, I thought this special time of day was the perfect opportunity to show togetherness.
