Today, my friend Kim and I took my daughter to our local zoo, the Leesburg Animal Park. For anyone in the area, it’s a great little place to check out. Entrance for adults is only $10 and you get a cup of food to feed the animals. The chickens and giant turkeys are just out and about with you, and they have a huge petting zoo area with all kinds of animals in it. They have a free wagon ride that takes you to see some cool, larger animals as well as the zebras, and they do free shows with some of the exotic animals. They also offer pony and camel rides. It’s a very neat place to have right in town.
These are from April. I didn’t have a venue to display them at the time, so I’m sharing them with you now! |
I bought a season pass for Isabella and myself and we go on Tuesdays for story time, where they give the kids a cookie and bring out baby animals 🙂 Despite this fact, this is what inevitably happens every time we come:
Today, I was armed with Aunt Kim, who kept Izzy occupied by letting her play photographer…
…while I took some pictures of my favorite animals to visit:
Izzy and I spend a lot of time visiting with the lemur. In fact, a couple of months ago we came to LAP for his birthday party. You haven’t lived until you’ve sung Happy Birthday to a lemur.
Before we left, we enjoyed a few minutes of today’s show:
Sadly, I wasn’t able to get a picture of Isabella feeding the baby donkey. I was busy helping her hold her hand out flat so she didn’t lose a finger. But, I was able to at least get a picture of the baby donkey:
