It’s “busy season” for me as a Northern Virginia family photographer. The leaves are changing, there’s a crispness in the air, and all of my “free” time is spent photographing some of my favorite families.
One thing I love about this family is, each year the kids bring something that represents part of who they are – usually from one of the sports they play. It always helps them loosen up and feel more comfortable and gives us something easy to talk about.
Something to consider for your next photo shoot. Let the kids grab their favorite toy or book or hat or whatever. I do this personally for my kids – if I have my heart set on a certain outfit, they can accessorize and pick their shoes. By letting them be part of the process I find they enjoy it more overall. Plus they won’t be carrying around the stuffie forever, and someday you may be grateful you have pictures of the time they took him everywhere.
