Today, my baby is 2 years old.
To be honest, I’m writing this on Wednesday and scheduling it to post for her actual birthday on Friday, because we’ll be on our way to the Baltimore Aquarium and I won’t have time to write 🙂 Then on Saturday we’re hitting Sesame Street Live! She’s going to be so excited!
Isabella came into this world on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 3lbs 10ozs and 17 inches long. Today she is approximately 23 pounds and super tall – like, really tall.
I liked the progression from needing both of us right there with her, to just Daddy’s hand for balance, to none of us.
Actually, I don’t like it at all.
When did she get so big? So independent?? And that hair!! It’s hard to tell with the pig tails but Isabella has a thick, curly, blonde mop on her head that never knots. It’s gorgeous.
So hard to believe that this time last year she couldn’t even walk, and now we’re potty training (which is going about as well as nap time). And she does things now – with thought and purpose.
Izzy isn’t the only thing that’s changed in the last 2 years. When she was born I had an older Canon point and shoot. My husband surprised me with my dSLR for my birthday that year, but I had NO idea how to use it so a lot of my earlier pictures of her with it are out of focus or overexposed. Now I’m saving money for an upgrade because I feel I’ve outgrown my little Rebel T1i. And my husband began achieving his Master’s degree when she was only a few months old, and now he’s almost done.
Even how she eats cake is different – the top is at her first birthday party, and the bottom was this past Sunday when we celebrated her 2nd birthday Little Mermaid style. She didn’t get cake on her actual birthday, because it’s generally advised that you not give newborns cake. Party poopers. And for you detail-oriented folks, yes, there is icing in her eyelashes in the top picture.
I wonder what I’ll be talking about next year?
Kate @ DaffodilsNew to your blog, I love your pictures (and am orginially from nova, but live in Cali currently.) Two is such a wonderful age, have fun with it. Happy Birthday, Isabella!
