Local Leesburg Outings Blog Circle: Activity

I missed December but I’m planning to go all-in for the rest of the year. January’s theme for a local Leesburg outing is “a walk, hike, or bike/trike/skate/scooter” which basically means that it’s open to interpretation. I took it as, go outside and play with your kids! If you’re local to Northern Virginia, you know that we just got crushed under 34″ of snow. In one weekend. Really, in about 30ish hours. Meanwhile, 2 weeks ago we were playing outside without coats. I love living in an area that experiences all of the seasons but would much prefer to enjoy them not in one month, but over the course of the year. I kid. In all seriousness, our amazing little town has banded together after the chaos in ways you’d see in a made-for-TV movie. Neighbors driving tractors to dig other neighbors out, lending snow blowers to each other, people with giant pick-up trucks posting in community groups that they will deliver emergency goods free of charge. It’s a beautiful thing.

Back on the 10th it was “ride your bike without a coat on” weather:

And then on the 24th it was “turn your driveway into a sledding hill” weather:
