Oh, hello.

You know that feeling when you keep meaning to do something, but you push it off until tomorrow – and next thing you know “tomorrow” is two months later?

That’s this blog. Sorry about that.

Truth is, we’ve had some exciting things happening in our personal lives that have kept me pretty busy…we’re expecting Baby #2!!

preeclampsia, baby, pregnancy, christmas, holidays, starbursts, canon, parenting, photoblog, Photographer, Photography, preemie, Virginia photographer, menorah,

I’m now 17 weeks along. My pregnancy is high-risk due to complications with my daughter (IUGR, marginal cord insertion, placental abruption, and ultimately pre-eclampsia which lead to an emergency c-section in my 33rd week) so for a while there I was rotating three doctors almost weekly. Things have calmed down a bit these days because – I’m so very happy to share – so far, everything is going well and Baby looks really good, though I am still taking additional meds to hopefully keep pre-eclampsia at bay (baby aspirin, B-6, calcium, and vitamin D). Prayers and thoughts are much appreciated. Hoping to get this baby to full term in June!

Anyway. If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw previews of my most recent sessions even though they didn’t make it here. But, being that this is a photoblog, I wanted to share with you a glimpse of our Christmas this year. Wouldn’t want you to feel gipped 🙂

My brother passed away in 2009, but I still like to include him. Especially at Christmastime.

Does anyone else assign themselves homework? My project was to perfect getting those starbursts in the lights. There are lots of tutorials online but what worked for me was turning my ISO down and my aperture to the largest number available (technically, this is also turning it down, even though the number is going up).

Hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday season!!
