Winter is a notoriously slow season for photographers. Luckily, these moms weren’t afraid to get out and have a few breastfeeding shots taken! I love how you can feel the warmth between mother and child despite the conditions. This will be my 3rd year of offering breastfeeding portraits in Northern Virginia and the Washington DC metro area, as well as participating in the Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project. When I first started doing them I swear people thought I was crazy! I’m thrilled that so many families are taking the opportunity to have these memories preserved.
I would love to be able to empower as many moms as I can on their breastfeeding journey. And I can’t help but end each session with a shot or two of mother and babe <3 These sessions are about you. Yes, we can meet in a beautiful field during ‘golden hour’ but we can also meet in your home or another special place like your favorite coffee shop. Find some inspiration here.
