project 52 of 2013 | backlighting

Our challenge this week was backlighting – one of my very favorite ways to photograph portraits…and pretty much everything else 🙂 I just love the softness it creates and the opportunities for some unique sun flares.

project 52, backlighting, Virginia photographer, parenting, family photographer, blog hop, nifty fifty

Side note: I’ve been avoiding shooting my Canon 50mm f/1.4 wide open but have recently fallen back in love with it.

Next, please hop over to Valerie Rice and check out her “backlighting” image.
